Hello! Happy Halloween and happy Monday! I’m super pumped for today’s Bold Moves Episode 13: Neda Stevic! She is a dear friend of mine who I met when I took her airbrush makeup class after I quit my job as a teacher and started out as a full-time freelance makeup artist. Because Neda’s art is so visual, much like last week, there are a TON of pictures – lucky you!
As I mention in the podcast itself (which you can listen to on Apple Podcasts, or Stitcher, or in the player below), there are a few things I should warn you about. The first is that there’s an F-Bomb in the podcast, so if you are listening or watching with youngsters around, I recommend headphones! Also, there’s a little chaos when my cat jumped on my lap, so I apologize for that. And finally, I think I was a little confused when I recorded the closing! I said that I’d be interviewing Buddha the following week, but I obviously already did! I guess next week will be a surprise (*coughHemadFadaifarcough*)! I also mention that I had written about Neda before, and if you’re curious about that, you can find that blog post right here!
Aaaanyway, in case you’re a fan of watching people talk on YouTube, here’s the glorious recording of the podcast in video form!
And if you listened on another format, or the slideshow in YouTube was too fast, and you want to check out the images in greater depth, here they all are! Let’s start with her modeling images, shall we? Actually, may as well show off the triple threat with a picture of her modeling her jewelry! (I’m sure she did her hair and makeup as well)!

[Tweet “”Like Mark Twain said, you have to go out on a limb because that’s where the fruit is!” – @NedaStevic”]
[Tweet “”Bad things happen all the time, but we need to look for the silver lining.” – @NedaStevic”]
Next, let’s take a glorious glance at her makeup artistry!
[Tweet “”You make your money with relational income, so it’s important to be genuinely cool!” – @NedaStevic”]
The image above is Neda in action as an airbrush makeup artist for Temptu!
And finally, let’s look at her Shady Lady wearable art line, made with recycled materials!
[Tweet “”I look around me and see thousands of inventions, and they are signs of success.” -@NedaStevic”]
Neda says this about the image above; “That last one above was taken by me in Cape Town. Ashley Abboushi is wearing a necklace I made from a recycled white biker jacket, and I wired Pink Himalayan salt crystals into it for their healing powers. I had to smash the block of salt apart with a hammer in my back parking lot!”
The images above and below show the multi-colored skirt, which is one of Neda’s favorites. She made it from recycled Snuggle dryer sheets!

Neda has some great recommendations for books* and people to check out on YouTube. Here they are! She recommends reading anything by Robert Greene, The 48 Laws of Power, Mastery, and The Art of Seduction (which is about more than what it sounds). He also has some great videos on YouTube! She loves books about one of her heroes, Nikola Tesla, “Man Out of Time.” Neda’s also quite fond of the work of Edgar Allen Poe, which I think comes through in her art! She is also in the process of reading “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counter-Intuitive Approach to Living A Good Life” by Mark Manson (if you were wondering about the aforementioned f-bomb, now you know its cause!).
If you’d like more book recommendations from Bold Moves Podcast guests, check out this list!
And if you’d love to see more Neda, you can check out her instagram page, her twitter, or her Shady Lady facebook page!
You’re probably getting used to the pattern, and I hope I never run out of generous guests, but of course, Neda’s episode has an amazing giveaway! She has offered to make a custom Shady Lady piece of recycled wearable art for whoever the lucky winner is! You’ll just have to go to her facebook or instagram page and give her an idea of what you like! She says “The winner can give me some idea of what color they like, and maybe if the piece should be bigger, smaller, etc. It will have some recycled rubber in it. I can do something as big as a choker, or as small as a chain necklace with one small recycled rubber pendant.” So make sure you check out the beautiful art, and enter here!
Check back in as well on Friday for Neda’s challenge for you! 😉💜
When is a time in your life when things just lined up and something that would normally be perceived as bad had an immediately apparent silver lining? Comment below!

Mandie
