The main point of my Bold Moves podcast is to show people that anyone can step out of their comfort zones and lead a more fulfilling life as a result. That’s why on Mondays, I share an interview with an inspiring person who’s done exactly that, and on Fridays, I extend a challenge to you to do something that makes you step outside of your comfort zone! With that in mind, here’s your challenge for this upcoming week: Bold Moves Episode 4: Fearless Fridays #2!
This week’s challenge comes from Sherown Campbell, who was interviewed for Monday’s episode, and who gave last week’s challenge as well.
I find that as both an introvert, as well as an ambitious entrepreneur, I find it easy sometimes to put my social life aside. This week’s challenge fights exactly that! You can listen on Apple Podcasts or Stitcher, or in the player below on this page!
I mentioned in last week’s Bold Moves Fearless Fridays episode that I’d also be journaling how I put the challenge into action, and I plan to hold myself to that! Sherown challenged the listeners to take one hour per day each day to spend on ourselves – either recharging our batteries, or learning (listen to the episode for more ideas, details, and why), so here’s what I’ve done!
I’ve spent time reading in bed. Right now, I am reading The Life Changing Art of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo*, which I recommend so far! I also took the time to paint my nails by the pool, and read a magazine by the pool! I’ve worked out every day, but that is part of my daily routine, so it probably shouldn’t count! I also drank some wine, and watched a couple episodes of Orange is the New Black!
This hasn’t been part of his challenge specifically, but I also tried harder to be kinder to myself about self-imposed deadlines and rules. That’s another whole blog topic (or series of them) in itself, though!
But the reason I shared that is to show that Sherown’s challenge worked for me, at least in one way! It is easy to get in the habit of “go go go,” and feel selfish to take time for ourselves, when in all actuality, slowing down can allow us to be even more productive and produce at higher levels, and that’s exactly what I’ve found. I think I will be continuing this habit as much as I can moving forward. Thanks, Sherown!
In fact, that reminds me of an old video… Here it is, for your review! 😉
Alright, don’t forget to share this week’s challenge and what you’re doing to live it on Social Media! Use the hashtag #BoldMovesFearlessFridays so I can see it and maybe share it! And don’t forget to enter Monday’s giveaway to possibly win a 3-Day Refresh!
What did you do for yourself in the past week? Comment below!
