It’s Friday, and it’s here! The Bold Moves Podcast #18: Fearless Fridays #9: Linda’s Challenge! If you haven’t already, please go back to Monday’s episode and listen to or watch Linda Mitchell’s interview! She has an incredible story, and was super brave in sharing it alone. She opened up about so many things – from being molested by a close family member at the age of eight, to leaving an abusive husband, to realizing that her life was passing her by with her goals left unachieved when she turned 50 and lost her dad and going after them… aggressively. She decided at that point to go to school and pursue her passions hardcore. I don’t want to give it all away here, so make sure you give it a listen! Anyway, she has a fantastic challenge for us!
Not so surprisingly, it is similar to a challenge that Danika Brysha offered as an option when I ran her Fearless Fridays post. The main difference, though, is that Danika wanted to challenge us all to write our own autobiographies, every day! I love seeing the similarities between people who have at least one thing in common – making bold moves! 😉
To know how Linda’s challenge is similar and different to Danika’s, take around three minutes to listen below (or on your favorite podcast app)! I plan to share how it went for me next week, so you can know how mine would be! If you listened to Monday’s podcast, you’d know about how Linda’s version would be! Linda got her idea from a challenge at Isaiah Hankel’s event, and she recommends his book in Monday’s episode, so make sure you take a look!
It’s important for me to stay accountable, so I definitely should share how I used Hemad’s challenge from last week!
If you haven’t yet listened to it, I recommend it, but I am sure you can get the gist from the following.
Whenever something went wrong, I followed my mental complaint with “…but at least…” and then filled in the blank with something that was a positive outcome instead!
The best example I can think of is this….
“It really sucks that it seems like the venue for our wedding reception did a bait-and-switch once they received the check for our deposit, but at least I don’t have this wolf tattoo on my belly!”
Hopefully it goes without saying that I also used the challenge in more serious ways… But this one in particular made me laugh, and calmed me down to send an email to the venue manager and get things worked out properly!
I also caught myself saying “Weaker people have done stronger things” over the course of the week as well! Thanks, Hemad!
Anyway, I will share what I wrote for this week’s challenge next week, and look forward to seeing what you do – so remember to share it on social media using the “#BoldMovesFearlessFridays” hashtag! Can’t wait to see what you do for Bold Moves Podcast #18: Fearless Fridays #9: Linda’s Challenge!
