I started this podcast back in September of 2016. At the end of that year, I was very tempted to do a retrospective compilation of my favorite episodes… Only there weren’t very many episodes! I did a roundup of “Business BAs” at the end of 2017, and planned to share this – “Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!” before the end of 2017 as well, but as you can tell by the date, it did not happen! I hope you find that it’s worth the wait! And what better day for it to come out than one honoring another inspirational world-changer, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr! Here’s Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!
With so many incredible guests, it was insanely hard for me to do just ONE compilation episode… So, as you can see, I did two. But even that was super difficult to narrow down!
In the interest of time, there’s no divisions between guests in this compilation, so thank goodness for these show notes to help you navigate through Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!
And for anyone who hasn’t been a longtime listener, here are links to each of the fabulous philanthropists’ episodes, in case you want to do some further exploration beyond Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists! I encourage… no, implore! I implore you to go to each episode so you can find the links to each charity’s social media, and even better, to their websites, so that you can make donations or show them support by following, liking, and sharing posts to get their message out there!
Here’s the YouTube video for you!
The first section you’ll hear (or see) is my interview with Kasie Lynne, the founder of KH Kidz, a charity that improves the lives of children fighting cancer! She started her charity when she was only 15! When I was 15, I am pretty sure I only started the microwave, so I am super impressed!
My next featured philanthropist is the only one in the compilation who doesn’t have her own (or should I write their own?) charity, but they do a TON of philanthropy! Check out Rosanne and Madeline Stuart! Madeline is the first model with Down’s Syndrome, and Rosanne is her amazing mom who’s committed to helping Maddy stay healthy and follow her dreams, and to help other parents with disabilities be the best caretakers they can, AND to help end isolation!
Next on the list was actually a friend of Madeline and Rosanne’s – Christa Preston of Embrace Kulture! She helped to start an organization that is changing the lives of children with disabilities in Africa!
Grab your tissues if you’re going to listen to Cory Zimmerman’s full episode – and definitely make sure to check it out if you’re a music fan! His organization, This Time Tomorrow, creates incredible star-studded recordings of their special song and does fund raising galas to surprise people fighting cancer with incredible “random” acts of kindness!
If you want a fire lit under your rear, check out the rest of Jamie Sheth’s episode! She is an author and the founder of the J.D. Sheth Foundation, which is doing amazing things globally to meet any needs she can!
If you believe in my motto – that if you look good and feel good, you’ll be able to do good, then you’ll LOVE PK Kersey, the founder of That Suits You’s story!
Finally, the most recent episode to feature one of my fabulous philanthropist guests is that of Drusilla Cowan, co-founder of Survivor Alliance, with a very timely message and mission to change the experience for survivors of sexual assault!
What are some of your favorite things to look back on over the course of 2017?
xoxo,
Mandie
