I am so beyond excited to finally share Bold Moves Podcast Episode 25: Nicole Zamora of My Hair Trip! Nicole was one of the first people on my list to interview, it just took a bit to get her on – partially because it was a bit outside of her comfort zone! She is one of my dearest friends, and will be standing up in our wedding next July, so when I make the post introducing my bridesmaids, you will learn even more about our friendship, but first, here’s some information about Nicole and her Bold Moves! As always, you can choose to listen on iTunes, Stitcher, your favorite podcast app, the player embedded below on this page, or you can watch our interview on YouTube!
I am so happy to have Bold Moves Podcast Episode 25: Nicole Zamora of My Hair Trip! finally happen, and really hope that if you ever go to Denver, you check out this salon. I think what she is doing is so amazing, plus she is an incredible stylist!
It’s funny, because Nicole has so much in common with Alan, another member of our bridal party in that they both moved across the country and started businesses, but also have so much that is opposite – like how much calculation and planning went into the “deciding to open a business” aspect!

Her journey started with a “Summer of Nicole” to do what she wanted to do without obligations, and then she followed her heart and so much else fell into place. She says she felt like she was floundering, and didn’t have a plan, but she had faith that it would fall into place, and it did.

Nicole’s goal with the beautiful salon pictured above is to make people leave My Hair Trip feeling better than when they came in, and empower them to go out into the world and make it a better place. A visit to My Hair Trip is intended to plant a seed of positivity into each guest, with the hope that it will blossom outside of the salon and ripple to others that those people encounter, making the world a better place!
My Hair Trip has partnered with Green Circle Salons, which does a lot of different things for salons to reduce the carbon footprint salons leave, like recycling foils, reusing hair to clean up oil spills, and much more (listen to Nicole explain it)!
Speaking of partners… This is another shot of Nicole’s lovely partner and husband, Paul!
In addition to the repurposing, recycling, and composting, they make sure they use cruelty-free products at My Hair Trip!
Please send this podcast to anyone you know who works at a salon, so they can learn about Green Circle, too, and reduce the environmental impact that salons have in their business as well!
I think that the advice Nicole gives is great – follow your heart, pray, and have faith that it all will work out!
Let’s chat about her favorite books! Also like Alan, she loves what the Freakonomics people have to offer – Superfreak was her favorite book! As a busy mom and business-owner, she struggles to find time to read books, but loves the children’s book Mr. Tiger Goes Wild, and finds that the message within is useful for adults, too!
If you’d like to see more of Nicole, or her salon, check out My Hair Trip on Facebook, Instagram, and Google Plus!
The link to the My Hair Trip Salon’s website has been sprinkled throughout!
Nicole and My Hair Trip have been so generous to donate some sustainable beauty products (the picture is just an example – I’d be just as surprised as you to know what)! Check this out to win!
