This week’s challenge is coming late. Sure, today is Friday and it’s the day that it’s supposed to come out, but I usually like to try to have the episode queued to come out at midnight, and here we are, over twelve hours later. But at least it’s still coming out on Friday, right? Often when I write the Bold Moves Fearless Fridays text, I have a hard time with figuring out what to write without just putting all of the text of the challenge in the post. This week will be an exception, because I think the Bold Moves Podcast #16: Fearless Fridays #8: Hemad’s Challenge is so timely and perfect that if I would have been able to pull myself together to post it early, I would have! But, it’s all about being kind to ourselves, right?
I posted that earlier this week, and have had to pay close attention to it this week, because I needed it, just like I needed Hemad’s challenge.
If you haven’t already listened, please go back to Monday’s post and do so – or you can watch it on YouTube, or go to iTunes or Stitcher, where you can also find today’s post, if you’re not using the player below, at the bottom of the post.
Hemad is an entrepreneur from Milwaukee, whose life mission is to be the most interesting man in the world. He uses that as his “North star” to guide his decisions. He’s also interested in Stoic philosophy and survivalism (which may have come in handy when he was summiting Mount Kilimanjaro), which is where today’s challenge of comparing down and thinking “but at least…” when something bad happens comes into play.
On Tuesday night, or rather late Wednesday morning, I found it SO HARD to find an end to that sentence. After a few days to process, I have found many. Though I’m not proud to admit it, I had a couple unproductive days where I didn’t really get much done, and I may or may not have shed a few tears. But at least I let myself feel those emotions. But at least I didn’t just bottle them up. But at least I am healthy and have an amazing fiance and family and friends… It is silly how focused on the negative I was on Tuesday night that I felt there was no hope – there is ALWAYS hope!
And when I was processing my feelings and getting nothing done, I was being kind to myself. I was filling my cup back up, so that now I am more ready to make a difference. That is part of what Bold Moves Podcast #16: Fearless Fridays #8: Hemad’s Challenge is all about! It’s time to make that happen!
As always, I would love to see your Bold Moves Fearless Fridays action. So please – make sure that you post on social media with the hashtag #BoldMovesFearlessFridays! If you haven’t yet, please go back to Monday’s post and enter the amazing giveaway with all of the items we gave to our groomsmen when we asked them to stand in our wedding last month!
