If you have been following me for a while, you know I am a fan of Influenster. They send me complimentary items to review in exchange for my honest opinion. (If you’re interested in joining, click here!) The latest batch of products I received was the Influenster Chic Vox Box, which included NYX “Worth The Hype” mascara, eos Shave Cream for dry skin, Korres Pomegranate AHAS & Enzyme Resurfacing Mask, and Hair Food Honey Apricot Shampoo & Conditioner! Now that I’ve tried them all, I can share my reviews with you! Click here to see the other goodies they’ve sent (or again – here to join to get the goodies yourself)!
As a makeup artist, I was likely most excited to try the NYX Worth the Hype mascara*, so let’s start there!
It is described as improving both volume and length, and was a low cost of $8. I’m a bit of a mascara snob (you can see my favorite on this page), so I was skeptical. Here’s a picture to show the impact!
Pardon my “makeup-free except on my left lashes” face! As you can see, I put the “worth the hype” mascara on just the one that’s on the viewer’s right (close to the tube I’m holding). I already have long lashes, but this mascara definitely increased them. I didn’t think it did much volume-wise, though. I thought it had pretty good separation, so I think this will be a good choice for a no-makeup look, as it looks pretty natural!
The next product to discover is the Korres Pomegranate AHAS & Enzyme Resurfacing Mask, which I had used just prior to the picture above. I am already partial to Korres products, if you can remember from my proposal to my bridal party, so I was excited to try this!
It is supposed to help exfoliate and reduce the size and appearance of pores. All I know is that my skin felt awesome (and a little tingly) after, and I wish the tube was bigger. This has maybe 2-3 applications in the sample tube, and I want more! That, I think, tells you all you need to know – I recommend it! Here’s a picture of the mask in progress!
Yeah, I need to get my nails done STAT!
Doesn’t my face look gritty with it on? Trust me, it felt SMOOTH as butta after! Speaking of, let’s move on to the eos Shaving Cream next!
eos is much better known for its lip balms, which come in those spherical containers – or at least that’s how I know them! So I was surprised and excited that they branched into the shave cream space, and couldn’t wait to try it!
For me, shaving is mostly about feel, because most of my leg hairs are blonde and can only be seen if you look up close (thank you, baby Jesus). So that was how the test went for the eos Shave Cream in this Influenster Chic Vox Box!
Here’s how it went:
Additionally, I loved that this was not in an aerosol can (yay, better for the environment!), and of course – the packaging didn’t disappoint. It’s not as unique as their lip balms, but it is elegant and suggests a price point higher than what it is!
In short – I recommend this one too!
Last, we have the Hair Food Honey Apricot Shampoo & Conditioner.
Although this product is not terrible by any means, I can’t say that I saved the best for last. My main issue with it is the ingredients. “Hair food” as a title to me implies it will be a largely natural and “food” as ingredients-based product, but not so. Worst of it is – it contains sulfates, which all hair stylists will tell you is a no-no, especially if your hair is color treated. The smell and feel of this product were great, but I was glad it came in sample size and that I’d only be subjecting my hair to it once!
Overall, I loved the Korres face mask and eos shave cream, liked the NYX mascara, and wasn’t overly fond of the hair products, but was still grateful to Influenster for sending them to me free of charge! Remember – click here if you want them to send you free products too!
xoxo,
