What are your goals? One of mine is to help as many people as I possibly can to go after their dreams and do what they really love, whether that is as a hobby or as a career! That’s the reason why I started my podcast – to get more eyes on my message! I watched a webinar a while back, and it gave me a couple other ideas on How To Share Your Message to More People, and now I want to share a couple with you!
One of the recommendations that I got on How To Share Your Message to More People is to guest post on other blogs. In the past, as you’ve seen, I was quoted in the post about makeup brushes (I posted about it here, but the article is here), and the article in Makeup Artist Magazine on how to not get injured on the job. Most recently, I was quoted on the MediaLeaders.com article about how to leverage Pinterest marketing to grow your email list. Now I just have to follow that advice! Confession: I am not a huge Pinterest fan, and I have an email list that I’m not actively using or growing!
The reason that guest posting on blogs and articles is important is that it helps establish your credibility as an expert in something. For me, these guest posts put me as an expert in two areas I spend a lot of time working on and studying – makeup artistry and social media! And one of the makeup artistry articles touches on another area of expertise of mine – fitness/nutrition and body mechanics!
Guest posting or being quoted in articles is also really helpful because it taps into an audience you possibly wouldn’t otherwise reach – in the examples above, this would be the ProMakeupTutor.com audience, the Makeup Artist Magazine audience, and the MediaLeaders.com audience!
In addition to guest posting on blogs, another way how to share your message with more people is to be a guest on their podcast!
As you know, I have had more than twenty people on my podcast so far, and I have loved it! Now I have also started being interviewed for others’ podcasts! The first one was Social Capital with Lori Highby, which you can listen to here!
On Lori’s podcast, I established my expertise a little bit in social media again, but also in networking, and in my various professions in the “hats” I wear – makeup artist, model, fitness and nutrition professional! You’ll hear more from Lori Highby, the host of Social Capital, soon, because she is going to be on the Bold Moves Podcast soon!
The second podcast I have been on was the Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T, with Linda Mitchell! If that name (either the person or the podcast name) sounds familiar, it is because Linda, the founder, was on my podcast! If you haven’t listened to her episode, you should, because she is so generous with her amazing, powerful story, and the dynamic ways in which she has helped other women empower each other through fitness!
Much like the Social Capital podcast, this gives me more expertise!
Stay tuned, as I have already interviewed for one more podcast, and am in the process of scheduling interview times for a couple others!
Being a guest on a podcast is an even better way of how to share your message to more people because unlike writing a blog post, which can take several hours, your only responsibility is the time of the interview! Plus, on a podcast where the listeners can hear your voice or see video if it’s a video podcast, the audience gets a much better idea of who you are, and has an even better chance of falling in love with you and becoming a raving fan! And if you ever want to make public speaking part of your career (I do!), this gives potential people that would hire you to speak a chance to check you out!
Additionally, whether it is via podcast or blog/article guest posting/quoting, any time your website link is on another site, it improves your SEO, or search engine optimization! That means that if someone is doing a web search for one of your areas of expertise, the more websites that link to your site (especially those that have high traffic), the more likely it is for google to determine that your site is relevant to people!
