Happy Wednesday! On Wednesdays, the girls from Mean Girls wear pink, but I am choosing instead to give you the lowdown on The Makeup Show LA Haul & Recap!
I was super excited to go to The Makeup Show LA, because this is the first time I was able to go! I have been to the Makeup Show in Chicago many times, San Francisco once, PhamExpo, IMATS… But this is my first The Makeup Show LA! A fun fact is that Tommy was going to propose to me last year, and surprise me by flying me down to LA for the gala the night before and propose, but that ended up not happening! I can’t say enough about how happy I am about the way he chose to do it instead, though!
This time around, once again, I helped out in the Frends Beauty Supply booth, which was fun as always! The only downside to working in the booth is that you don’t get to see the demonstrations or hear the talks, but I definitely still got a fair share of inspiration just from seeing many of my favorite artists, as well as other makeup professionals who were even just there to learn or to stock their kits!
If you remember me “fangirling” at IMATS about Ve Neill – well, she was in the Frends booth almost the whole show this time, to explain her Skin Illustrator palettes, so I didn’t even bug her for a picture! I did help her pick out a few pairs of lashes, though!
Here’s the pic from when we met at IMATS!
I have to be honest and say that I was in a bit of a funk on day one of The Makeup Show LA this year, so I didn’t take any pictures. Day two, I was in a MUCH better mood and feeling way more inspired, but I spent more of that energy talking to people as opposed to snapping pics! The good news is, I think that will lead to a few interesting podcast interviews ahead!
Anyway, you’re here to the The Makeup Show LA Haul & Recap, right? That was the recap, shall we go through the haul?
I had a massive amount of self-restraint this show!
As you can see, I got a few single shadows and eyelashes from Stilazzi (because I was in the Frends booth!), a Viseart Petit Pro Palette* for myself (my personal kit), and a new bag from Henry Charles* for my personal kit (I will make a video showing it off once my items are cleaned off and put in it/organized! A Melt eyeliner in Filth (also for personal kit, as I just ran out of my brown liner and this one is SO PRETTY)! A fun item I got that I hope will help more in my business time (invoicing, blogging, etc) is a candle from Rebels and Outlaws!
The rest you see pictured is from an AMAZING deal by The Powder Group! It’s a set of Cozzette brushes, two clear bags (not pictured), an Embryolisse Micellar Water* (I JUST ran out of mine!), the RCMA Vincent Kehoe #10 palette*, a Mehron primer*, a Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler*, and a Senna brow book*!
I ALSO befriended JR Kehoe, who is Vincent Kehoe’s grandson and 3rd generation makeup royalty… He gave me a sweet RCMA tshirt that I plan to sport soon… When I do, I will update this post with a picture!
Super excited to use these products, whether it’s my pro kit or personal kit! I have heard great things about them, so I am pumped to see how they live up to their reputations… (Though I already know how amazing Viseart is, since it’s like my fourth or fifth of their palettes, and am obviously a fan of Embryolisse, RCMA, and Stilazzi!
Annnd, I have TONS of work to share with you, so stay tuned for that! There’s a lot more coming! I just need to light my Rebels & Outlaws candle and get to posting! Hope you enjoyed my The Makeup Show LA Haul & Recap!
xoxo,
Mandie
