I did a second round of 21 Day Fix Extreme, and am now taking time to really reflect on my fitness and nutrition journey! It’s finally that time. A while back, I shared with you my nutrition journey, which basically, in short, was that I used to eat TONS of terrible foods in massive quantities, and I say it’s a miracle I never got fat. Tommy says it’s a miracle my organs all still function properly, and he’s pretty much right.
This terrible eating continued into the time that I became a Beachbody coach, though the act of being a coach helped me start to slowly but surely clean up my act. How could I tell other people to eat clean if I was eating whole pizzas on my own, even though I looked sort of fit? I couldn’t, and that, coupled with learning about the ideas behind ancestral health (primal nutrition) led me to where I am today – a nose-to-tail eating farmer’s market shopper who does her best to eat organic, humanely raised produce and meat, and gets a variety of fresh food every day, and even meal preps!
Just how “sort of fit” did I look? I look at this now and it’s crazy, but here’s my initial “before” picture from the first time I started P90X.

I know my before picture is not that bad, but to me it is. Even looking at my face – I look older, even though this was about 4.5 years ago. I look exhausted and puffy – my body is in a state of inflammation from tons of processed food!
Fast forward to today – I updated you before when I completed 21 Day Fix Extreme the first time… Well, last Wednesday, we completed the second round, and here are the photos from that!
As you can see, when you’re getting close to where you want to be, it becomes a lot harder to make drastic changes, but I think that’s pretty great for 21 days!
I see the most difference is in my front-facing pictures, and Tommy’s side photos! I lost 3 more pounds, and gained half an inch in my chest, lost a quarter inch in each arm, lost and inch each in my waist and hips, and lost half an inch from my thighs! We never got around to measuring Tommy when he finished, but he also lost three more pounds!
But, let’s check out the very beginning up to today, shall we?
It is so amazing what a difference good nutrition, and the support from a group and accountability from being a leader can do! It provides me with the consistency that I need to truly see the results I want!
From here, we are currently trying out doing yoga EVERY DAY for 30 days, while doing a Primal-ified (yes, I made up that word) version of the 21 Day Fix Extreme nutrition plan. It’s primal-ified because it is a high fat version of it. Still unprocessed, whole foods, with fruits and veggies, but fattier cuts of meat and less of an emphasis on lean protein! I am excited to see how it works, and if it does, expect an eBook!

It’s funny, coming from where I have and where my knowledge is – my mind still craves foods I KNOW are disgusting and not even real food! I guess a couple decades of bad habits are hard to break, but I know I will break it! It’s so worth it!
