The world is hard to live in right now. I don’t think ONLY focusing on the positive is any type of solution, but I do think it can help us create energy and keep our minds open and hearts soft enough to come up with solutions and implement them.

So grateful to have a little me-time on the mat (as a student!) in a beautiful setting and to recharge (and of course Reset & Renew) at yet another incredible event organized by the incomparable @savvvydeeee at @milwaukeedomes - an iconic place for locals! @lululemon provided a beautiful new mat for everyone, @easybreezybashco had a create-you-own bouquet bar, @matchawithsora & @fruition_mke had healthy snacks and drinks, and we took home packages @oathnutrition that I can’t wait to try! @ursoullc led a calming , peaceful flow. I already want to go back to savasana - the sweet gentleman at the end (who got to explore the domes during the event) got super riled up and went feral by the time we left. Guess I’ll have to do more yoga soon!

Who’s in?

Whether you want to spend all the saved $ at the end of the year on something better you REALLY want, invest it differently, or have a nice emergency fund, I feel like this could be fun to do and cheer each other on.

It could be $1 or $5 every time you catch yourself, or maybe the amount of what you would’ve spent, or 1/2 the amount - details all up to the individual!

I just know that as someone who moves all the time, I could use less stuff. I’m trying to de-condition all the messages of overconsumption we get - de-influencing buying so much. I’ll still shop, but more intentionally. More thrifting. Less stuff, but better quality.

And I may add the nuance of two items out (donated, sold, gifted, recycled, or trashed) for every one coming in.

I posted this to my story yesterday and got a great response, so I figured it deserved a spot in the static posts.

The audio is probably going to disappear- so listen while it lasts! 😂 I was going to use a version of “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas,” but when I found this monstrosity of a mashup, the millennial in me couldn’t pass it by!

Despite *gestures to the whole world* all this going on, Christmas has felt pretty special this year - seeing its magic through Charlo’s eyes, a birds-eye view of the Santa bike ride, special parties (shoutout to @savvvydeeee for organizing incredible and aesthetically pleasing events for us & always making us feel loved), plus so many opportunities this year to volunteer and donate to make this world better, seeing so many friends & family doing the same, and knowing there are likely a ton of secret behind-the-scenes good deeds happening I don’t even know about. 💜

I wanted to share this little peek at our Christmas festivities so far and some of the decorations on our tree and in our home this year in case it spreads a little cheer. I hope you are able to look at this season with some magic and sparkle - borrow some of Charlo’s!

If you’re still reading, you must either really like me or really like reading, so might I suggest something that does double duty in that regard? We had a special Friday night! My author copy of my newest book Happiness Habits arrived and we opened it after dinner. It was really amazing holding a physical copy in my hands - this is the first book I’ve written that I put in print and it’s so different than seeing an ebook. I think if I didn’t have a goofy book reviewer on my lap, I would’ve cried!

Don’t trust his review, by the way… in the unabridged version of this video, it’s clear he was just disappointed by there only being a few pictures and it being a book about grownups. 😂

Many of you know my book Happiness Habits is available for pre-order on Kindle and releasing tomorrow. It’s $4.99 and I have a free special bonus for those who me proof of preorder.

But what you might not know is how preordering can help an author! When there are purchases right out the gate, it shows the algorithm that people are interested in the book, and then it suggest it to people who are not my friends and family, and may not have found it otherwise. That would be amazing!

I’ve discovered that in addition to a lot of people that know me well not knowing that I have written books (🫣😂), some also don’t know that you don’t need a Kindle to read Kindle e-books. like the old Apple commercials say, “there is an app for that!” Amazon has made a Kindle app for most smart phones and tablets, so you can read it with whatever device you’d like wherever you’d like!

I don’t want to pressure anyone that was not going to buy it into buying it, but I did wanna let you know that if you were considering getting the Kindle version anyway, buying it today would help me a ton. And I’d give you that tax bonus I mentioned!

If you are a physical book person, or don’t want to give any of your 💰 to Jeff Bezos, I get it and I’ve got you: paperbacks will be available on Amazon and my site in a couple days, and I’ll sell the ebook on my site to buy directly from me as well.

Excited to share that my third book is finally available for pre-order on Amazon! It’s a guide to activating happiness-inducing hormones with small actions you can do in just a few minutes each day.
