In his quest to turn overthinking into a Superpowe

In his quest to turn overthinking into a Superpower, @jonacuff created a process & asked more than 10,000 to test it out. Those who did were 2.5x more likely to see a decrease in overthinking.

They were also not only more productive toward their goals, but had a satisfaction rate with their results 21% higher than those who didn’t follow through.

These same folks also completed 78% more of their goals than those who didn’t decrease their overthinking. Sound good?

Let me make it even better.

Soundtracks by @jonacuff is our @alilbetter.community book club for August. Not only are we reading the book together, but I’ve added journal/discussion questions to help you slow down and make sure you’re thinking about what you read, to actually make changes.

I’m also providing a gentle yoga flow to help get grounded and more confident, along with a yoga Nidra (similar to guided meditation) with the same goal.

Nearly 40 people are signed up to do it all together - community and accountability.

We start Saturday, but the only “behind” there is is the one you sit on - it’s all about making small, steady progress a lil bit at a time, and I’ll provide a few reading schedule options to work through the book in 1-4 weeks.

I’m also throwing in a helpful worksheet I think will benefit many, and if I can, a live discussion and a discussion at the end of next month(ish).

In August, we’re reading Soundtracks by @jonacuff and learning how to redirect overthinking into affirmations that will be a new soundtrack for our lives.

In addition to not having to worry about what personal development book to tackle next, the community aspect will help you stick to it. I’ll provide a few reading schedules and journal/discussion questions to make sure you don’t read cover to cover like a novel, a gentle yoga flow that provides grounding and calms the mind, and a yoga Nidra (similar to guided meditation) that calms the mind and helps with self-kindness - so you actually make changes while/after reading.

@alilbetter.community helps turn shelf help into self help! And we help others, too… 1% of all sales go to sustainability-related charities, and I’ll be updating soon with another charity aspect for August specifically (it gets its own post)! 💜

The Happiness Habits club’s always free (just get the book), and we’ll do another live month in September along with our previously scheduled September book, Lazy Genius Way!

Oh my goodness, we have a five-year old on our hands! It has been such and adventure and I can’t wait to see what’s next for our bright, hilarious boy. I hope he never loses his absolutely unshakeable unique sense of self.

If you’re in the MKE area and looking for something to do next Sunday (July 19th at 1pm), may I suggest yoga with adoptable kitties from @catsatlargemke at @thechasmgym?

If you aren’t big into yoga, it is perfectly acceptable if you relax and snuggle kitties - no judgment whatsoever.

If you’re not into kitties, you can attempt to lock into the yoga sesh… but be warned that if kitties get chaotic, they steal the show! I’m allergic to cats, but still power through sans self control and just sneeze a while after. 😹 Thiiiisssss isss the way I live… 🎶

If you don’t like yoga or kittens, there will be lots of nice people and it’s for a good cause.

Wow. Nine years?! Usually, I write all about our relationship - how great of a match we are as partners.

But right now, I’m thinking about how this night was one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had, which reminds me of how fun even the little or not-so-fun things are (like packing a pod on >90° days).

Tommy, I love you so much and am so glad we’ve been having fun for fifteen years - nine of them as husband and wife. Can’t wait to dance with you some more - maybe in sand, maybe not?

And to everyone else in our lives that made this day and life before & since so much more fun - thank you to you as well. 💜 So. Much. Love!

From today, looking back through the last year of your fatherhood journey, to one of the first pictures of you two together - Tommy, watching you grow as a dad has been nothing short of incredible. Charlo and I love you so much! I’m so excited to see what the next year has in store for us.

And even though he’s not super active on social media, I’m so glad to have the dad I have, and watch his joy in being a grandfather.

And I don’t wanna brag, but I’m very blessed in the stepfather, grandfather, and father-in-law departments, too!

I posted this to my story on Sunday, and some of you said you could relate, but the end where I actually ask why and if anyone else is like this is cut off, plus it was a little long for a story, so I didn’t get as much discussion as I had hoped. So, can anyone else relate or offer any other additional ideas or insight?
