Hello! Most “extra things” (beyond shoots, teaching yoga, and Charlo) are pretty much on hold until my Master’s degree is done this Spring, but I did want to share an interview that I did this past December (three months ago) before I forgot! My second yoga teacher training was through a company called YogaFit*, and it was an in-person training. I share the story in the video below, along with some more fun stuff that is coming.
I’ve uploaded the video and embedded it into the blog just below this, or you can check it out on FBA’s vimeo account at this link. Big thanks to FBA for interviewing me!
And here’s an embed of a short snippet I’ve shared on my Instagram and facebook where I am giving a shoutout to the brands that facilitated my project…
I’d actually shared a video showcasing the products donated right after I completed my certification, and that video is here:

In case you’re not interested in clicking to the link to the interview on Vimeo, the Cliff’s Notes version is this…
I started doing yoga about 30ish years ago in sixth grade, before school at 6am. I did it on and off for years, and then came to a place in life (after moving to a new city every two years for about a decade and having to build new clientele as a model and makeup artist got exhausting and I had a baby three years ago), I was in a place to give yoga exploration a try.
The gym where I teach three (sometimes more) days per week offered an instructor training program that allowed us to get certified to teach our format in their selection of gyms, but we’d have to get an outside certification somewhere else.
Before that eight-week program was finished, I’d signed up for a YogaFit training class to complete level one. Right after my eight-week program was finished, I was hired and started teaching two days a week at a gym, and subbing where and when I could.
Over the Summer in Greece, I got my 200-hour certification online.

Since I’ve been back in Fall, I added another day of the week teaching at my original gym (which has my heart) and have added another gym to my schedule one morning a week. I also did a yoga & book club retreat in Door County in November that was incredible!

And in January, I had the pleasure of representing YogaFit at The Fit Expo in Los Angeles, teaching a half hour long practice.

Last weekend, I took a one-day online Yoga Nidra course through YogaFit, which was fascinating! I’ll be leading a Yoga Nidra workshop in mid-May, so please stay tuned for that!
Yoga Nidra is literally sleep yoga, and you can get four times the rest you’d get in an hour of regular sleep. Sign me up!
I honestly don’t know where I am heading in the future yoga-wise… I am interested in working with athletes more, and also interested in Yoga Therapy (but that is a 945-hour program and not inexpensive, haha). I believe I’ll continue learning, continue sharing yoga with others and see what sticks!
Once the ol’ masters degree is done, I do plan to launch alilbetter.com completely and release the book that I wrote years ago and keep editing and re-editing.
Thanks for sticking with me in the meantime! Hopefully, I’ll still be blogging or posting on social media here and there!
Cheers,
Mandie
