Walking is one of my favorite workouts, and I may be as bold to say activities in general. This may not be a huge surprise, since I have done the 3-Day (a 60 mile breast cancer walk) seven times, but it is! There are so many benefits of walking, like that it keeps you in the fat-burning zone, it can calm your mind, and more… And now I love ADDING to the benefits with a few apps I’ve recently found. Here’s How To Make Money Walking!
As I mentioned, I love walking beyond exercising… It can be so helpful from a mental health standpoint, and if I ever have a creative block, I step away and take a walk, and then come back to it. I usually feel better after, and I often come back super energized because I got a creative idea from walking!
A while ago, I found an app called Charity Miles that I love because when you walk, you can donate sponsors’ money to the charity of your choice to an extensive list. Recently, they also made it so that if you forget to turn the app on before you start walking, you can still add your steps from the whole day to it by clicking on their notification at the end of the day!
Making money for charity is awesome, but. you’re probably here because of the title, where you can learn how to make money walking!
There are a couple ways!
One is through the app SweatCoin* – it logs your steps, and converts them into its own currency (which are of course called SweatCoins), which you can spend on the app with the different sites Sweatcoin partners with! You can also earn more Sweatcoins by watching short videos from their advertisers.
A similar app is Achievement*, that also gives you points based upon your activity, and gives other ways to earn points, like taking surveys or reading their articles (which are both usually health-related).
Another way to make money walking is through the app StepBet. In the past, I’d done DietBet, as well as this healthy alternative to it, but I had never heard of StepBet! I joined one that starts tomorrow, and I have some lofty goals!
The app uses the activity that your phone has been logging (assuming you have an Apple Watch* or Fitbit*), and gives two goals – an active day goal, and a power day goal. You. are supposed to try to have four active days and two power days. You can have one day off, where you don’t reach the smaller active goal day! With. StepBet, you put in a certain amount of money and bet on yourself to meet those goals. If you meet them, at minimum you get your money back, but it also pools together the money anyone in your game (this is mine currently) who doesn’t reach their goals forfeits, and the people who stick to their goals the duration of the bet split it!
The weather has been gorgeous here, and as I mentioned in my prior blog about how to stay fit during quarantine, I signed up for my first 5K*, AND I adopted THIS cutie…

Happy Monday! Hope you started your week on the right foot… or feet! 🐾🐶🥾
So I have been walking like crazy and don’t see that changing anytime soon! So, I was pretty psyched when I found a few things that help me with how to make money walking!
Plus, all these apps (with the exception of Charity Miles, and StepBet, unless you count potentially taking any recruits’ money who don’t reach their goals) give you benefits from having people sign up, so that’s a bonus too (and why there’s an asterisk by those apps – * means they are affiliate links)! Bonus!
I hope you love these tips! Let me know if you know of any other ways to benefit from walking, or doing anything else you normally do anyway!
xoxo,
Mandie
