Hello there! For my American friends, last week was a holiday – Thanksgiving. While it was likely celebrated very differently amidst this pandemic, and its origins are depressing when you know the truth, I feel the same way about Thanksgiving that most people feel about Valentine’s Day; that it is a commercialized holiday celebrating something we should acknowledge every day. Gratitude is a definite biggie for me, and I hate that this holiday especially has turned into the commencement of a huge greed fest. Black Friday went from Friday to encroaching on Thursday (and taking retail folx away from their families), and now also includes Small Biz Saturday (which I love) and Cyber Monday, and now all of it going for a whole week…. Yikes. One of the best things, though, is when we actually do take the time to be grateful, if we can spend time with loved ones, and obviously… Mashed potatoes. Another positive that has come from all of these designated days is Giving Tuesday, and I want to use it to be generous to you!
Giving Tuesday is intended for people to perhaps assuage their Black Friday guilt by doing some donations on the following Tuesday. I like to ignore that this is also an end-of-the-year tax deduction situation and focus on the good part – charities getting some extra dough!
While I work on my offerings for future #SmallBusinessSaturday situations, I want to reward those who participate in Giving Tuesday now, because that is something I can do already!
There are myriad quotes on giving knowledge and how valuable that can be, so that’s what I’m giving away today!
As you may or may not know, I have written two books. One about basic makeup skills for beginners, and one about how to achieve your goals!
For giving Tuesday, I am rewarding anyone who donates to a charity (or person in need) with a free Kindle copy of my book through Amazon. Send me evidence of your generosity, and I’ll send you the link!
To be honest (because it would be silly to lie about something like this), it is also going to just be free for the entirety of 12/1 on Amazon, so it’s really on the honor system.
If you don’t have the extra money to give, and want to do an exchange of energy, I would love it if you wrote me a (hopefully positive) review on Amazon and/or Goodreads when you finish reading the book(s), because I think that would help me quite a bit!
Here’s the link to the makeup book on Amazon (free 12.1.2020) and here’s the link to the goal setting book on Amazon (free 12.1.2020)! And here’s the makeup book on Goodreads and the goal setting book on Goodreads, just in case!
I’d still love to know what charities you’re passionate about and donating to, so feel free to send those to me on social media!
Happy learning!
Cheers,
