Wow, it has been awhile. I’ve basically disappeared from pretty much all online activity, save my instagram story and occasional facebook posts. Oops! So, let’s catch up, shall we?
Wow, this whole quarantine and pandemic really threw me for a loop!
Don’t get me wrong… I can’t complain too much. I did lose my part-time job, but I replaced it with one that’s a better fit for me in most ways (more on that below). I’m healthy, and my needs are being met, both of which are things that an unfortunate number of people in America (or the world) can’t really say.
But in terms of “online business,” I’ve been radio silent on pretty much all fronts.
I think I am ready to come back, and in doing so, figured a good place to start would be explaining where I’ve been, what I’ve been doing, and what I think I will be up to in the coming weeks!
I guess for the “where I’ve been” part, like most of us, the answer is at home in Sacramento. I did take one trip to Santa Barbara to do a week-long gig as a makeup artist, which was lovely all the way around, aside from a really ridiculous situation in which my new dog, Q, tried to swim to a new life in Asia. More info on his instagram here:
And if you’re like “New dog? What??!”
Tommy and I fostered a pup when they closed down the shelter because of COVID-19, and then we fell in love with him, and now Quentin Quarantino is a permanent part of our family, which is definitely the best thing to come out of the pandemic for the Brice family!
Aside from spending lots of time with my gentlemen at home (which definitely took away from time that would have been spent on podcasting, blogging, social media, etc), I also did not feel comfortable sharing much.
While I had a great interview with Brian Crooks, and wrote a piece on how to be a good ally, it felt silly to do much beyond my pre-existing obligation to FitTrack to write about their scale! I did share from Q’s instagram page, but primarily because so many people have shared how much joy he brings, which I totally understand! I definitely didn’t want to shortchange anyone on joy!
Another positive in the recent past is that Tommy and I celebrated another wedding anniversary, which was a wonderful experience, even despite our celebration options being so limited by the shelter-in-place and other COVID-related closures.
And yes – Tommy’s hair’s getting crazy long!
Since I previously shared what I was doing fitness-wise during the pandemic, I should share an update… I am done with ChaLEAN Extreme, and have moved on to Brazil Butt Lift! I’ll do an update once I finish that, because I actually took before pictures.
So, that pretty much brings us up to the current moment, and how I’ll share what I am focusing on the rest of the year.
First of all, I mentioned a new job and how it’s a better fit in many ways. I’m teaching online, and it’s an improvement because I have done all the coursework for my Master’s Degree, and this job should provide me the opportunity to complete my final project, which will be a major plus!
I also do plan to bring my podcast back into action!
Aside from that, I also have decided that I want to help some people salvage 2020. I want to do some sort of 4th quarter hustle to make something wonderful happen at the end of this year using the strategies I outlined in my 2020 Vision book (my second ebook, after the one I wrote with makeup basics)!
I’ll be outlining that soon and sharing information, so stay tuned for that!
How about you? What have you been up to, and what do you have to look forward to? Comment below!
xoxo,
Mandie
