It’s amazing how quickly time can fly by if we aren’t paying attention… That’s why I want to be better at keeping track, and why I am going to do a monthly digest so I can look back later and see what I did! Here’s my January 2020 recap!
I saw a friend do a post on instagram with her recap, and I loved it, so I have to do my own!
To do it retrospectively, I am going to use a few tools to make sure I don’t miss anything! One, of course, is my camera roll on my phone. Another is my calendar – I keep track of important things there! The third is a new app my friend told me about called “1 Second Everyday” that helps you make a compilation video that’s from one second each day!
I’ll share my January 2020 recap from that app soon!
From what I can see from those three tools:
We rang in the new year in Sacramento, and then celebrated our 10th anniversary of dating a couple days later!
Yes, I wore the same dress – I still have it!
I attended ten Kings games – seven in Sacramento, one in Miami, one in Chicago, and one in Minneapolis. It has been amazing watching Tommy work and live his dreams – especially in places like The United Center, where I know he dreamt of being on the court as a kid and lifelong Jordan fan!
Our friend Ernest visited when his team (the Orlando Magic) and we had a couple great dinners and a night out on the town!
I was interviewed on The Confidence Crown podcast, and the Life and Business Trailblazers podcast (coming soon), and did a ton of interviews for my Bold Moves Podcast as well!
I did a Pat Benetar-inspired hair and makeup job for someone’s 40th birthday party and got a lovely review!
Took an amazing trip to Miami, Chicago, and then Minneapolis. Saw lots of friends, enjoyed warm Miami weather, had two different Chicago Deep Dish Pizza experiences, and had such a fabulous time! My luggage got sent to Louisville instead of Chicago, so I got a few new wardrobe pieces I’m super excited about, and American Airlines reimbursed me for them (although I’ll be much happier once I actually have that check in hand), and then on my way back to California, they asked for volunteers to go back later, and I accepted. Got home at 10:30pm instead of 6:30pm, and got a $550 flight credit and a free gyro!
I also sold a couple copies of my makeup ebook, and one copy of my goal-setting book, and got some reads on Kindle Unlimited. I learned a bit about Amazon ads, and am making steady progress toward my goals, which truly excited me!
On a sad note, Kobe Bryant passed away, but his passing motivated me and caused a ton of introspection, even as we collectively continue to grieve.
January ended with Tommy and I having a great date night – we worked out, went to the grocery store, went out for sushi, and then came home and watched a little Netflix before bed!
It’s day one of February, and it already seems so magical. I can’t wait for the next recap! Thank you for being on this journey with me!
xoxo,
Mandie
