If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ve already seen… I am a member of Influenster, and love getting free products from them – especially when it’s makeup or skincare, which is a growing obsession of mine! If you’re interested in joining, click here for my referral link! Anyway, most recently, they sent me a great moisturizing cream and eye cream, so here’s my Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense Review!
I am planning to update this after I’ve used it for a while longer (and I did take a before picture, so I’ll surely share an after picture!), but I can tell you so far that I really enjoy the feel and smell of the product itself.
I can also tell you that my skin feels very soft after about a week and a half of relatively consistent use (my luggage was sent to the wrong city, throwing a wrench in my initial testing plans!), both of the eye cream and the skin cream. I feel like it gives a great amount of moisture – I feel like my skin is soft, taut and plump, while not being greasy.
Sometimes when I apply eye creams, I feel like my eyes feel strange for a while, but that has not been the case with the Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense Eye Cream, so I definitely love that, and it doesn’t appear to negatively impact my application of eye makeup. It doesn’t seem to actually seep into my eyes, which is a definite bonus!
I must include in this Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense Review that I love the concepts behind the “Vital-E” line – that they use prebiotics and probiotics to protect the skin’s natural biome, and that there’s an ingredient to protect our skin from all of the blue light we’re exposed to from our tvs, smartphones, computers and tablets! I think both are so important, and go along with my previous post about how new challenges mean that we may need more support than we needed before technology advanced!
Usually, my only complaint about many of the products sent to me by Influenster is that they’re not organic or as natural as I usually go. My go-to skincare is the entire line from AEOS (Activated Energized Organic Skincare) which is about as natural and organic as it gets without me growing my own organic garden and mixing up my own stuff! But, as I mentioned, I am warming up to the idea of incorporating conventional skincare made with advanced science to navigate new challenges we’re faced with due to our environment. It’s funny, because I feel like we now need technology to deal with the technology we’ve created!
I haven’t been able to run the products through the Think Dirty App yet to see whether or not there are harmful ingredients, but I will be doing more research and getting back to that, and updating the review once I do.
So far, my only potential complaint is that I feel like more product than average is needed to sufficiently cover my face or my eye area. It is a “solid to cream” formulation, so you have to scrape a chunk out and then melt it between your fingers. I love the process and how it all feels, but I do feel like I am using more each time I apply than I would with other products, and that I will go through these products more quickly than average.
Well, that’s all I have so far for this Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense review! Stay tuned for more on skincare, because I am becoming absolutely obsessed with it, and I know Influenster already has a new product coming my way!
xoxo,
Mandie
