Isn’t it funny how so many different ways you can be more “green” also are great ways to save money? I love that example of a win-win! In this post, I’m explaining how to Save Money & Be Sustainable with Dryer Balls!
They say that whatever we give energy to grows.
That means that if you’re focusing on earning more or saving more money, your bank account should grow (and that’s what I’m doing – like with this book club we’re working on).
Additionally, for other ideas, when we are focusing on other concepts, those grow, too! So if, like me, you’re focusing on how to have a smaller negative environmental impact, our brains are going to continuously look for more ideas to do exactly that!
That’s where dryer balls* come in. I know I’m late to the dance on this one. Apparently millennials haven’t been using dryer sheets for a while. Clean laundry is one of my favorite scents, so it would break my heart to give that up. I did, however, stop buying them a while ago, and when I was using them, I was using them over and over until they added no smells at all! I still don’t have my friend Neda beat, though – check out this amazing skirt she made out of used dryer sheets!
But now with these dryer balls, I can actually customize the scents, which makes it even more delightful! With my first few loads of laundry, I put one drop (ish) each of lemon, peppermint, and lavender essential oils. The lavender was a gift from our friends in the South of France that we met up with on our honeymoon, so it is really nice to have, because it brings back those lovely memories!
As I’ve said, I am likely late to the dance on this, but one great thing about helping other people is that we only have to be one step ahead to do it. While I may be late to the dance, but I doubt I’m last, so maybe this is still helpful – I hope so!
So that’s how I Save Money & Be Sustainable with Dryer Balls! What are some of your frugal or sustainability tips?
xoxo,
Mandie
